Does spray tanning work on Asian skin tones?
Absolutely! Our spray tans are so popular with our Singaporean clients , that we were featured on BBC World News. Check it out here and listen to what our clients have to say first hand.
When we first started out, over 10 years ago, our service was mostly popular among the expatriate community. Today the majority of our clients are Asians who love how a spray tan evens out their skin tones, enhances their complexion and gives a healthy glow.
Tanned skin is in!
Is it permanent?
Will I turn ORANGE!
Absolutely not at Tan@Home! There are plenty of tales and images in the media of the “orange tango-tan that probably still color some people’s perceptions of sunless tanning. There are 3 reasons for this and it’s usually due to an unskilled technician or cheap products:
1. There are many tanning solutions on the market and unfortunately many of them are cheaply made in China or use inferior DHA, the main ingredient. These cheap solutions are renowned to turn to you orange.
2. Even if you use the best tanning solution, applying the incorrect shade or concentration level for your skin type could turn you orange. Understanding the impact of DHA on under-tones and mid-tones is a complicated formula. Our technicians are fully trained in skin analysis and esthetics to customize the right formula for your skin tone.
3. Applying the solution incorrectly or with cheap equipment can often result in orange either by applying too much solution or uneven coverage. All our technicians are fully trained and we use state of the art salon professional compressors and spray guns.
Don’t risk it! Choose Tan@Home, the pioneers of spray tanning in Singapore over 10 years ago who have completed thousands of perfect tans.
With Tan@Home, NO ORANGE AND NO DONALD TRUMP!

Our solutions are manufactured to the highest standard using only the best raw DHA sourced from France and combined with organic oils and vitamins. They contain no dangerous Parabens or PEG found in some products.
Is it OK to spray your face?
Absolutely! Our experienced technician will give you the right spray tan to give you an even caramel skin tone or golden base; perfect for teaming with summer dresses, high heels and light make up. If your face often looks patchy and you usually wear a lot of foundation, a spray tan could be exactly what you need to slash your morning beauty regime in half! The extra colour will even out your skin so you can easily get away with less make up and more of the natural you! It is completely safe and we can provide nose-plugs if required. However, it’s totally up to you amd if you would prefer to skip your face, that’s fine too.

How does sunless tanning actually make your skin change?
It’s time to get scientific with a short chemistry lesson! The main ingredient in tanning solutions is Dihydroxyacetone (a.k.a. DHA) that is derived from sugar. So how does DHA work to induce the appearance of a tan? DHA actually acts on only the top of the dead skin cells on the surface. The amino acids in this dead layer of skin react with the DHA in order to produce natural chemicals called melanoidins. The melanoidins produced by absorbing the DHA result in a visually tanning effect on the skin. The effect isn’t instantaneous. It take around 2-4 hour for the tanning effect to kick in, and it can continue to darken for as much as 48 hours even after you have washed it off. Because it’s the dead cells on the skin’s surface that it affect, the tan it induces can last for up to ten days, fading as these dead skin cells are shed just like a sun tan. The percentage of DHA determines how light or dark your skin will change.

What is a top coat or stage tan?
This is essential for all competitors regardless of the category you are competing in. The stage you will be appearing on use bright lights that reflected off the body. The result is that your your physique and muscle definition is washed out. We use Jan Tana Ultra 1 that is used by Pro’s worldwide. It contains deep dark bronzers to enhance your definition, hide any perfections and enhance your muscle tone. You will look really dark off the stage but onstage you will be half the color!
My skin is tone already very Dark - do I need a spray tan?
Yes. A spray tan will even out and brighten your skin tone and cover any imperfections. It also deflects the stage lights to enhance muscle definition. Just look at all the worldwide Pro’s and they all have a spray tan.
I am very pale - how many coats do I need?
We do not charge by the number of coats you need. Regardless of the category you are competing in, we do two applications. The base tan the day before and the stage tan on the competition day. If you have fair skin, we apply the number of coats needed to give you enough color for the category you are competing in. We know exactly what the judges are looking for.
My skin is very fair, do I need to start tanning several days before?
Absolutely not! Most tanning services give you one coat per session and charge by the number of coats you have. The more sessions equals more money! We do base tans the day before and stage tans on the day of the competition. We give you as many coats as you need for the category you are competing in. More importantly, spray tanning more than day before, means your base coat will already start fading and may result in an even tone.

EYELASH EXTENSIONS
What are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash extensions are an increasingly popular treatment which involves applying a false lash to each individual natural lash to create a longer or thicker lash look to make them appear longer, fuller, and darker. Individual lash extensions are applied to each of your individual natural eyelashes using a semi-permanent glue.
How long do Eyelash Extensions last?
Eyelash extensions typically last through the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes, which can be up to six weeks. However, maintenance is required every two to three weeks to replace lashes that have fallen out due to the natural shedding process. It is normal for lashes to fall out without any extensions at the rate of 2-5 per day on average, when getting extensions it is more obvious as it will be attached to a false
lash.
What is the application process like?
The application process can take anywhere from one to two hours, depending on the volume and style of the extensions. During the procedure, you will lie down with your eyes closed. Your technician will use tweezers and a small amount of specially formulated adhesive to attach individual extensions to your natural lashes. The process is painless and can be quite relaxing.
How do I prepare for Eyelash Extensions?
For the best lash experience come to your appointment with clean lashes which are mascara-free. Make sure you’re caffeine-free as caffeine can cause your eyes to twitch during your appointment, making it more difficult for your technician, and increasing the risk of getting red eyes after treatment.
How/where is the service performed?
The service is performed lying down on your sofa or bed by our mobile technician in your home. Please prepare a comfortable space of your choosing in advance.
Can I wear contacts with Eyelash Extensions?
We recommend you do not wear contacts whilst having your lashes done to make sure to avoid any irritation.
Are there different types of Eyelash Extensions?
Yes, there are several types of eyelash extensions, primarily categorized by the material used:
- Synthetic: These are the most common and affordable type of lash
extensions. They are made from a polished, acrylic material and tend to look more dramatic. - Mink: These lashes are made from real mink fur and are known for their soft, fluffy, and natural appearance. They are generally more expensive than synthetic lashes.
- Silk: Silk lashes are mid-weight and can provide a more natural or a more glamorous look, depending on their thickness and length.
How should I care for my Eyelash Extensions? Can I swim/shower?
Proper care is essential to prolonging the life of your eyelash extensions:
- Avoid water and steam for the first 24 to 48 hours: This allows the adhesive to fully cure.
- Be gentle: Avoid rubbing your eyes or pulling on your lashes.
- Use oil-free products: Oil can weaken the adhesive bond.
- Brush them daily: Use a clean spoolie brush to gently comb through your lashes.
- Avoid mascara: Mascara can clump the extensions and is difficult to remove without pulling on the lashes.
How are lash extensions different from a lash lift?
- Lash lifts are more a perm which lift your lashes up to make them appear longer. This treatment doesn’t involve adding any extensions as we only work with your natural lashes.

Are Eyelash Extensions safe?
Eyelash extensions are generally safe when applied by a skilled technician using high-quality products. However, there is a risk of allergic reactions to the adhesive or the lash material. If you have any concerns, please ask the technician to do a patch test prior to the full application to ensure you do not have any adverse reactions.
How much do Eyelash Extensions cost?
Please refer to our booking page for the latest pricing information. The price includes the mobile service in your home.
What should I do if I want to remove my Eyelash Extensions?
https://tanathome.com.sg/book/It is highly recommended to have your eyelash extensions removed by a professional. Attempting to remove them yourself can damage your natural lashes. Professionals use a special adhesive remover that safely dissolves the glue.
Can I wear makeup with Eyelash Extensions?
Yes, you can wear makeup with eyelash extensions, but oil-free products are recommended. Avoid waterproof makeup as it can be difficult to remove and may cause the extensions to fall out prematurely. We wouldn’t recommend wearing mascara. Application of mascara could clog up the lashes, deposit oil on them and cause them to break down. If you’d like a fuller look we’d recommend getting a fuller look instead of applying mascara.
What are infills and when are they required?
Infills are when we replace the lashes which have grown out (lashes grow the same as nails would), we remove the growth out lashes and fill in the new ones. This is required every 2 – 3 weeks.
How do I choose the right lash style for me?
The right lash style depends on your eye shape, the look you want to achieve, and your natural lash health. Consult with your technician to choose a style that complements your eyes and suits your lifestyle. If its your first time, we would recommend Classic style. These are the most natural and unless you already know you like full lashes we’d recommend you to go for these. You can always go fuller for the next times if you’d like more.
What are the benefits of Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash extensions offer numerous benefits:
